Jesse James Admits Regrets As He Talks Sandra Bullock & Baby Louis

Jesse James was vilified as the man who broke Sandra Bullock’s heart, and the reality star admits he does have some regrets.

“I would be lying if I [said I] didn’t have regrets. I wish I could always go back to certain things and not be bigger or stronger or anything, just know what I know now,” Jesse told Access Hollywood at Barnes & Noble in New York on Thursday, where he signed copies of his new memoir, “American Outlaw.”

“I wish I could not have hurt her like I did. It’s sad that this stuff happens everywhere, every day,” Jesse told Access Hollywood.

Jesse insisted that his book isn’t the celebrity tell-all many were suspecting.

“I think a lot of people think it’s a tell-all or some kind of book that’s trying to redeem my image or something. I think it actually makes me look worse because I am willing to show myself at the lowest points,” Jesse said. “If people wanna judge me… well here, look at all of it and then you can really see what it’s like.”

The lowest point for Jesse came less than two weeks after Sandra’s highest career achievement, winning her Best Actress Oscar for “The Blind Side.”

It was In Touch magazine that broke the story of Jesse’s infidelity, but Jesse said things were going well up until that point.

“I think our relationship was at a great place,” he said. “All the infidelity and stuff…I put it behind me and it was 11 months before that and I stopped it and moved ahead. And bringing [Sandra’s adopted son] Louis into our lives brought us together and it was kind of a catalyst that made our relationship really, really great… She was at the top of the world and I was extremely proud of her and it’s a life lesson: you never know, in a blink of an eye [something can] be gone and over.”

Jesse admits he still misses Louis, to whom Sandra is the sole parent.

“We adopted him together initially and I was with him for three months, all through award season, it was just him and I, so it’s kind of the biggest tragedy of all this,” he said. “But, I know Sandy’s a great person and a great mom and that kid’ll be the crown prince… If he was neglected, I would feel sad, more sad about it, but knowing what a great mom and a great person she is, I guess it kinda offers me some consolation that I know he’ll be OK.

“And if the opportunity arises where she wants [me] to be in his life or be a dad, that I know I am, I’ll take the opportunity,” he added.

Nowadays, Jesse is preparing for his life ahead with Kat Von D, his fiancée, and he’s working hard to make it work this time around.

“I got a great girl that is willing to accept me for my faults and vice versa and every day we work on relationship to try and make it better,” he said.
