Jessica
Simpson is finding her voice once again.
The
35-year-old mom of two shared peeks from inside a recording studio on
Wednesday, and seems happy to be returning to her artistic roots.
“Studio
vibin’,” she wrote to accompany one peaceful-looking Instagram shot, in
which she’s posing barefoot with her eyes closed.

Another snap
shows her smiling at the control board alongside renowned songwriter, producer
and former “4 Non Blondes” frontwoman Linda Perry, with camera,
microphone and treble clef emojis serving as the photo’s caption.
It’s been
nearly six years since Jessica’s last album, 2010’s “Happy
Christmas,” but it seems she’s been planning a musical comeback for some
time.

“That’s how I started; that’s always [been] one of my
biggest passions in the world,” Jessica said of singing, while appearing on
the “Today” show last September. “I love to use my voice.”
Fans chimed in with enthusiastic support following Jessica’s
Instagram posts, and she hinted that a new sound could be in store.
Just last month, the fashion mogul told the Huffington Post
that motherhood and her time off have had an impact on the music-making
process.
“It’s
been a very exciting time to rediscover music and I definitely have so much
inspiration. I’ve been in the music business for so long, and it’s interesting
to see what I come up with as a mom and the perspective I have after all the
records I have made and all the life situations I’ve been through,” she
said. “There’s a lot to talk about. There’s a lot to sing
about. There’s a lot I feel like people will relate to.”
