Jessica Simpson Breaks Down On Stage

Jessica Simpson managed to make it through her set Thursday night in Grand Rapids, Mich., but not before forgetting the words to numerous songs and tearing up in front of the crowd of 8,000 fans.

“Sorry,” she mouthed to the crowd in the middle of her 38-minute set, The Grand Rapids Press reported.

Later she revealed, “My voice is weak tonight.”

Jessica reportedly forgot the lyrics to her single “Come on Over,” and had her band start over during “Pray Out Loud.”

Before playing her last song, “Do You Know,” she told the crowd she wished she could “walk off the stage.”

Despite her bumpy set, Jessica made it through her entire performance and thanked her band for “having her back.”

Though tabloids and gossip Web sites have harshly criticized Jessica following her now infamous Weight-Gate controversy, many of the fans in attendance had nothing but praise and support for the pop star-turned-country singer.

“I felt bad for her tonight. Magazines are ripping her, being so harsh, and she’s gorgeous,” one fan told the paper.

Another agreed, saying, “She is way thinner than she looked in the magazines.”

Fans who met the singer before the show at a meet-and-greet thought her recent unflattering photos did not do Jessica justice.

“She didn’t look anything like those pictures,” said B-93 music director Dave Taft. “She looks incredible.”

A rep for Jessica told the Associated Press that Jessica had “off night.”
