Jessica Simpson will become a mom for the first time very soon, but don’t expect there to be multiple bundles of joy.
“No, it’s not twins,” the 31-year-old mom-to-be and “Fashion Star” mentor said on “The Tonight Show With Jay Leno” on Monday night. “I know it looks like it.”
When Jay asked if she might go into labor during their chat, Jessica said, “Not quite yet. We have some time.”
Adding that she’s “waddling at this point… It’s a lot of weight to carry on six inches!”
The star told Jay that she’s prepared for the challenges of child birth.
“Labor is really going to hurt,” she said. “I have so much respect for my mom and all the women across the world.”
Jessica also revealed why she and fiance Eric Johnson – who are expecting a girl – have waited to walk down the aisle.
“I want him to be my husband so bad,” she told Jay. “I do still want to wear the pretty gown, so I have to wait.”
She then pointed to her belly and said, “Now, she’ll just be in the wedding.”
The “Fashion Star” star also stopped by “The Ellen DeGeneres Show,” where she revealed that she’s starting to have contractions.
“I had contractions last night and I freaked out a little bit. You know those Braxton Hicks things,” she explained. “It’s like these contractions that pregnant woman have towards the end. It prepares your body for delivery. I’m prepared. It’s scary. It’s like, ‘Oh God, this can happen right now.’”
