She’s known for designing fashion for women, but Jessica Simpson is looking forward to dressing her soon-to-arrive baby boy.
“I’m so excited to have a son,” the 32-year-old star – who celebrated the impending arrival of her second child with a baby shower in Los Angeles on Sunday — told People. “He got all these cute vintage cars and I got a lot of little leather jackets I can’t wait to try out!”
Jessica said she’s excited for her daughter, Maxwell Drew, to have a brother – something she never experienced.
“I didn’t grow up with a brother and I think the unknown is really exciting,” she told the mag. “I can’t wait to have that connection with our little man.”
As for Jessica’s shower, the Tom Sawyer-themed bash was hosted by her mom, Tina.
With fiance Eric Johnson by her side (along with sister Ashlee), the group dined on comfort food, including fried chicken and grilled cheese.
“I always love some fried chicken,” Jessica said, adding that she feels free to indulge a bit during her second pregnancy as she’s working out more this time around.
“This pregnancy I’m active,” she said. “I’ve only gained half of what I gained in my first pregnancy.”
