It’s a boy for Jewel and her professional bull rider husband Ty Murray!
The happy couple welcomed a son, Kase Townes Murray, in Texas on Monday, the singer announced on her website.
“Ty and I are so pleased to welcome our new baby boy into the world,” the singer and Bravo star said in a statement posted on her site. “We are overcome with happiness – it really is as great as everyone told us it would be – better even!”
Kase was born at 7 PM and weighed 7 lbs., 6 oz.
As previously reported on AccessHollywood.com, the new mom found out that she was pregnant on the first day of her reality songwriting competition show, “Going Platinum.”
“I took a pregnancy test and it was positive!” the 37-year-old singer said in January. “It was so hard to keep it a secret. I was worried I’d start throwing up on set and everyone would be like, ‘Oh, she’s pregnant.’”
Jewel and Ty, who had been trying to conceive for two years before getting pregnant, wed in 2008 in the Bahamas.
