Jillian Michaels To Host All-Star Game Charity 5K & Fun Run

America’s Wellness Coach and Stand Up To Cancer Ambassador, Jillian Michaels, star of “The Biggest Loser” and “Losing It With Jillian,” is proudly showing her support for cancer research and education by joining Major League Baseball and Angels Hall of Famer Bobby Grich at the All-Star Game Charity 5K & Fun Run presented by Sports Authority and Nike, taking place on Sunday, July 11, 2010. Michaels will encourage, hand out medals and congratulate participants as they cross the finish line. The event will benefit the Prostate Cancer Foundation, Stand Up To Cancer, Susan G. Komen for the Cure and City of Hope with Major League Baseball donating 100% of registration fees to the organizations.

“Cancer is a horrible disease that has touched my life – all of our lives – far too many times,” JIllian said in a statement. “I am honored to be a part of the Stand Up To Cancer fight to eradicate this devastating illness. I encourage everyone to come out and be part of the action – it’s a great chance to do something fun, and healthy, for a truly vital cause!”

Participants in the All-Star Game Charity 5K & Fun Run presented by Sports Authority and Nike will run and walk on a baseball-themed course featuring appearances by MLB legends, mascots and celebrity guests. The course will begin outside of Angel Stadium of Anaheim, home of the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim and host of the 2010 MLB All-Star Game, and travel through the surrounding neighborhood. The course will take participants through the ballpark where they will take the final stretch of the race on the warning track, giving fans an exclusive glimpse of the Big A in advance of the 2010 All-Star Game. The All-Star Game Charity 5K and Fun Run presented by Sports Authority and Nike is proudly supported by Aquafina, Bank of America, Firestone, Gatorade and Getty Images.

The 5K, an officially timed event, will begin at 7:30 a.m. PT. Immediately following, at 8:00 a.m. PT the family-friendly 1-mile Fun Run will begin.
