Jim Parsons’ ‘Saturday Night Live’ Nerves In Full Effect!

Jim Parsons is just days away from making his “Saturday Night Live” hosting debut and the “Big Bang Theory” star is feeling the weight of his job.

“I’m a little nervous. Everything’s so fresh and so new right now. There’s enough distractions and shiny things going on to keep you from thinking too much about Saturday,” he told Access Hollywood guest correspondent Tim Vincent. “[But], Saturday night I’ll be nervous.”

The Emmy-winner is taking comfort in the fact that his CBS series has helped him prep for the gig.

“The good thing about this is there is something very similar to the live audience [of ‘The Big Bang Theory’]. So being in here feels as comfortable as it’s going to be being in somebody else’s home, being asked to let loose in somebody else’s home. But there is something about it that does seem just familiar enough to fool myself into ebbing comfortable,” he continued.

Despite his nerves about hosting, the 40-year-old jumped at the chance to show off his live comedy skills.

“It’s such an honor to be asked to do it. … This was something that I didn’t really ever dream of doing… but I did know in the back of my head that if it were to ever come up, no matter how scared I was, I would for sure do it, no matter what,” he said.

Jim told Tim that growing up he loved the “SNL” work of Jane Curtin, Gilda Radner, Mike Myers and Dana Carvey.

“You can’t be a viewer of television, at least in this country, and not be familiarized with so many terms that we’ve gotten from ‘SNL’ and so many characters we’ve gotten from ‘SNL,’”
