JoAnna Garcia & Nick Swisher Welcome Baby Girl

It’s a girl for JoAnna Garcia and husband Nick Swisher!

The former “Animal Practice” star, 33, welcomed a baby girl this week.

According to the Associated Press, Nick, 32 – a first baseman for the Cleveland Indians – was placed on paternity leave on Tuesday ahead of the team’s season opener against the Detroit Tigers.

In a recent interview with Yahoo! On The Road, the father-to-be said he couldn’t wait to meet his little girl.

“I am so excited. I never in a million years thought I’d have a little girl, but over the last six months, the pink and purple dresses that I’ve bought, I’m telling you,” he said. “My wife, Jo, she says, ‘You’re going to spoil that little girl so much.’ I can’t wait, man.”

Adding, “I talk to her every night. Jo and I, we’re so excited to meet her and to bring her in the world and give her a whole lot of love.”

The baby girl is the first child for Nick and Joanna, who began dating in 2009 and tied the knot in 2010.

JoAnna revealed she was pregnant in November 2012, in a Twitter post.

“So happy to finally be able to share our news! @NickSwisher & I r expecting our 1st baby in 2013! Feeling so blessed & beyond excited!” she wrote at the time.
