Joe Manganiello Close To Joining Channing Tatum Male Stripper Film ‘Magic Mike’

“True Blood’s” Joe Manganiello has had to disrobe plenty of times on this season of his hit HBO show, and now he’s inching closer to taking his stripping from the woods to the stage on the big screen.

According to Entertainment Weekly, Joe is in final talks to join the Channing Tatum-led cast of “Magic Mike,” a movie about male strippers, from director Steven Soderbergh.

Joe would join a cast that already includes his Carnegie Melon classmate Matt Bomer, whose own show, “White Collar,” the 6’ 5” actor recently joined for an upcoming guest spot, set to hit USA next year.

Matthew McConaughey and “I Am Number Four’s” Alex Pettyfer are also involved in the project.

According to EW, Joe would play Big Dick Richie, while Matthew would play a stripper-turned club owner. Matthew’s character name is Dallas.

Tatum is set to play Magic Mike, the mentor of Alex’s as yet unnamed character in the project.

Joe is currently filming “What to Expect When You’re Expecting” in Atlanta.

His HBO show, “True Blood,” airs Sunday nights at 9 PM.
