John’s appearance may not have been entirely unexpected for his eagle-eyed followers, though. The 10-time Grammy winner took to Twitter to tease his St. Pancras arrival shortly beforehand, while asking coyly if an instrument was waiting for him.

“Do they still have that piano there?” he wrote.

The timing of John’s appearance likely wasn’t a coincidence. Not only is the singer set to kick off the UK leg of his “Darkness and Light” world tour this fall, Wednesday also marked International Piano Day.
