John Mayer, Giada De Laurentiis Shoot Down Alleged Hook Up Report

John Mayer has been linked to a host of lovely Hollywood ladies over the years – but don’t add Food Network beauty Giada De Laurentiis to that list.

Following a report by Star magazine, which claimed John and Giada – who is married – were spotted cozying up together in New York City, both the 33-year-old singer and the 40-year-old foodie issued statements denying the report.

In fact, a rep for Giada said the two barely know each other.

“Giada indeed met John Mayer briefly at a charity event in 2007 but has not seen him since. To be clear, they are not friends and cannot even go so far as to call John Mayer an acquaintance,” her rep said in a statement released to Access Hollywood. “There is not a sliver of truth to Star magazine’s story.”

The “Say” singer’s rep also shot down the report, which went as far as to suggest the pair “looked like two people who were going to go home together” when they were allegedly spotted in New York City.

“The claims are absolutely ridiculous,” John’s rep told Access.

Giada – who hosts “Everyday Italian” on the Food Network, along with her host duties on the most recent season of “The Next Food Network Star” – has been married to Todd Thompson since 2003.

The couple has a 2-year-old daughter, Jade.

In related news, Giada’s grandfather, famed film producer Dino de Laurentiis, passed away Wednesday evening.
