John Mayer Says Grammy Win Should Be Shared With Jason Mraz

John Mayer had a lot to celebrate Sunday night with two Grammy wins — one for Best Male Pop Vocal Performance for “Say,” and one for Best Solo Rock Vocal Performance for “Gravity” — but the singer said he wants to share the honor with fellow singer Jason Mraz.

And although John was physically at the 51st Annual Grammy Awards at the Staples Center in Los Angeles Sunday night, the avid blogger was busy on his Twitter account.

“Best Pop Male Vocal!!” he wrote following his big win. “I wanna share it with Mraz. His is a really special performance.”

Even before John got to the awards show, he was busy on his Twitter, thanking everyone reading for just getting an invite.

“Suiting up for the Grammys. Thank you all so much for allowing me to get an invite again… Lucky to have you,” John wrote before the ceremony.

Grammy night started with some heart pounding excitement for the singer.

“Won best rock vocal Grammy for Gravity! Heart is about to explode!” he blogged, following his first win. “That song means the world to me and to see it get love is a THRILL!!!!”

The singer also couldn’t contain his pre-show butterflies before taking the stage to perform in the Bo Diddley tribute with B.B. King, writing, “Hands are shaking, about to play some R and B!!”

Following his big night, John continued to express his appreciation for his music honors.

“As I get older, I become more and more thankful to have a place in the music world, and it’s an amazing honor to be recognized for my work,” the singer said in a statement released to Access.

John is currently at work on his fourth studio album, tentatively titled “Battle Studies.”
