John Stamos ‘Heartbroken’ Over Olsens Not Joining ‘Fuller House’

Uncle Jesse is not happy.

Following the news that “Full House” alums Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen are officially out of the “Fuller House” Netflix spinoff, John Stamos said he is “heartbroken” by the decision.

“I understand they’re in a different place and I wish them the best. I promise you will not be dissapointed with our reunion and spin off!!” Stamos wrote on Twitter on Friday, adding “#heartbroken” in another post.

In a separate Facebook post, Stamos continued to share his reaction.

“Just so you reporters know – this is not a money gig for any of us- quite the opposite – we want to give the fans what they deserve for supporting us for so many years- we all just want to have fun – do it in a classy way on netflix and have a good time- sad that a few don’t share the rest of the cast’s opinion – i can only wish them the best – JS,” he wrote.

On Friday, “Fuller House” executive producer Robert L. Boyett issued a statement, explaining that the twins would not be returning to the revival to reprise their role as a grown-up Michelle Tanner.

The new series will focus on the Tanner sisters D.J. (Candace Cameron-Bure) and Stephanie (Jodie Sweetin) and their childhood pal Kimmy Gibbler (Andrea Barber) and their characters’ kids.

Besides Stamos (who is also producing the spinoff), original castmember Dave Coulier will also return for a guest role. Bob Saget and Lori Loughlin are still in talks to return.

A 13-episode season of “Fuller House” is scheduled to premiere in 2016 on Netflix.
