John Stamos Wants His Own Show; Shoots Down ‘Two And A Half Men’ Rumors

Following the termination of Charlie Sheen from his hit CBS show, “Two and a Half Men” on Monday, one of the first actors rumored to be considered for replacing Charlie was former “Full House” heartthrob, John Stamos. However, John said taking over for the embattled actor doesn’t fit in to his career plan at the moment.

“I want to say it’s been very interesting, because I’m kind of caught in the crossfire here,” John told Ryan Seacrest of the recent Charlie Sheen replacement rumors, in an interview on his 102.7 KIIS FM radio show on Friday. “I’m very flattered people think I’d be able to replace him — but nothing formal has come in.

“Charlie’s great on that show and people love Charlie on that show and people love the way the show is,” John continued. “So, in the big scheme of things, I hope it works out and I hope he goes back, and I hope people get the show that they love.”

John also said that any rumors of an official offer from the Warner Bros.-produced sitcom are simply untrue — but he confessed he wants to have his own new show again soon.

“Nobody has talked to me officially about doing [‘…Men’] and quite frankly, as flattering as it is — everyone’s been really nice about it — it’s not part of my career plan right now,” John told Ryan. “I’m just on a different trajectory. I came off of ‘ER,’ which I loved, and I went to Broadway and I’ve been doing some fun guest spots with ‘Entourage’ and ‘Glee’ and I’m ready to have my own show. My head isn’t (in) going in to replace somebody.

“I don’t want to replace anyone — especially not Charlie Sheen,” John added. “That just not where my head is at.”

The handsome 47-year-old also recently filmed a guest spot on “Law & Order: SVU,” on the set of which he revealed to Access in exactly which type of show he’d like to star.

“I’d like to do something in between, you know, ‘Californication’ and ‘Full House,” he told Access during an “SVU” set visit in NYC this past Monday.

In addition to acting, John Stamos is the national spokesperson for Project Cuddle, which is a not-for-profit organization that saves the lives of babies from abandonment.
