John Travolta has arrived at a Bahamas courthouse where two people are on trial on charges of trying to extort $25 million from the movie star.
Travolta pulled up in an entourage of sport utility vehicles and entered a police station across the street from the Nassau courthouse. Bahamas police officers surrounded the courthouse.
Wednesday is the actor’s first appearance at the trial.
A paramedic and a former Bahamas senator allegedly tried to blackmail Travolta with private information following the death of his chronically ill son at a family vacation home in the island chain off Florida. Both have pleaded innocent to extortion charges at the trial that began Monday.
