Johnny Depp In Talks To Be A ‘Tourist’ With Angelina Jolie

Following a major cast and director shakeup on “The Tourist,” Johnny Depp is reportedly in talks to co-star alongside Angelina Jolie in the thriller.

According to Variety, Depp could replace “Avatar” star Sam Worthington, who recently left the project along with director Florian Henckel von Donnersmarck. Both reportedly left the remake of the French thriller due to creative differences.

Depp would play an American tourist who is lured into a web of danger by an Interpol agent, played by Jolie.

A slew of Hollywood’s top directors are said to be eyeing the project including, Alfonso Cuaron.

As previously reported on AccessHollywood.com, Jolie stepped in to replace Charlize Theron, who backed out of the project in October. No reason was given for Theron’s departure.

“The Tourist” is reportedly slated to begin production in February.
