Johnny Depp To Star In The Great Mortdecai Moustache Mystery Movie?

Jack Sparrow… Tonto… is a globe-trotting art maven next for Johnny Depp?

On the heels of his role in “The Lone Ranger,” Depp may be playing another bold and quirky character — Mortdecai in Lionsgate’s rendition of “The Great Mortdecai Moustache Mystery” by Kyril Bonfiglioli, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

The Charles Mortdecai character is a dashing art dealer who “must traverse the globe armed only with his good looks and special charm,” according to a studio description.

The role is charged with handling Russians and terrorists while on the hunt to recover lost Nazi gold. If he does land in the role, Depp would plan to shoot before heading to star in the fifth installment of “Pirates of the Carribean.”

Director David Koepp (Jurrasic Park, Spiderman) is set direct this feature.
