Jordin Sparks ‘Praying’ For Bobbi Kristina Brown’s Family

Jordin Sparks is keeping Bobbi Kristina Brown in her thoughts, as she fights for her life in an Atlanta area hospital.

Jordin – who met Bobbi Kristina when she starred as Whitney Houston’s on-screen daughter in the 2012 film “Sparkle” – spoke to Access Hollywood on Thursday night at a pre-Grammy party hosted by Delta Air Lines at Soho House in West Hollywood, Calif., and the singer/actress recalled extending an offer of friendship to Bobbi Kristina in the past.

“It was a couple of years ago. I haven’t been able to see her, but every time I did see her, I let her know, like, ‘Look, you have a friend in me. If you need anything, call me,'” Jordin told Access. “My heart’s breaking for the family. I just really hope that she’s okay.”

Jordin and Bobbi Kristina posed together for photos in the months following Whitney’s death on February 11, 2012. The two women were snapped side-by-side at the Billboard Music Awards in May 2012 and then again at the premiere of “Sparkle” in August 2012.

Jordin also told Access she’s sending her prayers to Bobbi Kristina’s family during this difficult time.

“It’s around the same time [as the anniversary of Whitney’s death] and her heart has always been breaking, you know, to lose your mom, I can’t even imagine, so I imagine that she’s been hurting for a long time now, so I just hope that she’s okay and I’m just praying for the family,” Jordin said.

Back in 2011, Whitney told Access‘ Shaun Robinson that she took on a motherly role on the set of “Sparkle” to help her on screen daughter, Jordin, transition from music to film.

“Every now and then I go around and give her mommy hugs…because I think the vibe that we set behind the scenes, is what you’ll see on screen,” Whitney told Shaun at the time.
