Josh Schwartz Developing New Shows For Michelle Trachtenberg, Rachel Bilson

Audiences may not have had much sympathy for her NBC hospital drama “Mercy,” but Michelle Trachtenberg is hoping for success with a new criminology-based drama for The CW.

According to Deadline and The Hollywood Reporter, “Gossip Girl” producers Josh Schwartz and Stephanie Savage will produce a new show starring the beautiful pale-skinned actress.

The trade mag reported that the project is based on a script Trachtenberg sold, about a “young criminology student with a gift for profiling and a dark past.”

Stuart Zicherman, who wrote the 2005 film “Elektra,” which starred Jennifer Garner, will executive produce and write the script for the show, based on Michelle’s idea.

Trachtenberg occasionally plays mean girl Georgina Sparks on “Gossip Girl,” which is now in its fourth season.

In related news, Schwartz is hoping to bring “The O.C.” darling Rachel Bilson back to TV. Deadline reported that Schwartz is penning “Ghost Angels,” described as a “supernatural romantic comedy,” starring the brunette beauty.

NBC has reportedly committed to that pilot.
