Julia Roberts was right on trend with her black and white Dolce & Gabbana gown. She completed her elegant look with dark nails courtesy of celebrity manicurist Lisa Jachno, who has been Julia’s manicurist for the last nine years.
Lisa has worked with half of Hollywood, including Jennifer Aniston, Jennifer Lopez, and Kerry Washington.
In addition to Julia, she also did Diane Keaton’s nails for the Globes. Busy lady!!!!
Here, her step-by-step tips to achieve Julia’s nails!
INSPIRATION: We chose a deep purple to compliment her wardrobe and makeup and offset her structured Dolce & Gabbana dress, the dark purple is a modern sophisticated shade, in comparison to a black or Vamp nail, this shade is a new trend it reflects a nice dark modern bit of color that doesn’t read black when seen. Julia’s beautiful black smokey eyes and blushed lips gave way to the color choice as well, we needed a dramatic color on the nails to balance her look- not to mention that amazing Harry Winston diamond on her finger. The bold dark purple was a gorgeous accent for her hand.
SHAPE: Jachno shaped Julia’s nails a trendy square shape using labnails (www.labnails.com) tapered nail file, keeping them short, modern, and sophisticated.
PREP: To achieve the perfect canvas for a glassy and smooth polish application, Jachno buffed the nails lightly with labnails buffy 3-in-1 mani pen. Jachno also indulged Roberts in a good hand and foot massage to prepare her for an evening in high heels. The skin is hydrated and made dewy using Absolue Hand by Lancome.
COLOR: A sophisticated deep purple by Lancome in Midnight Rose #441N. Julia’s toes compliment her nails in the same color.
