Julia Talks Film Award, Baby Henry & Clooney’s Accident

Julia Roberts is loved in Hollywood for her talent, beauty and infectious laughter, but as Access Hollywood’s Billy Bush found out, she’s also got a reputation for surprises.

“Hello Julia. How are you?” Billy Bush asked backstage at the American Cinematheque ceremony in Los Angeles, this past Saturday.

“Happy Birthday!” Julia exclaimed before giving Billy a kiss.

“How did you know it was my birthday?” a stunned Billy asked.

“I just know these things,” she replied with her trademark smile.

Dressed in a black, Diane von Furstenberg gown, silver bracelets and ruby red nails, Julia gave Billy a birthday surprise to remember, just before she was honored with the 22nd Annual American Cinematheque Award.

When asked what she planned to do with the honor, Julia grew shy.

“I don’t know,” she replied. “I’m starting to feel funny.”

It was the crowd though who laughed later that night when Julia brought the house down with a line that only a mom who gave birth in June could deliver.

“Is there a hungry baby in the house?” she asked. “Just come on up!”

Julia’s husband stayed home with the couple’s children – twins Phinnaeus and Hazel, and newborn Henry.

“He’s awesome,” Julia said of her littlest. “He’s gorgeous and he’s sweet and he giggles all the time.”

Julia giggled herself through tributes at the ceremony by Denzel Washington, Bruce Willis and good friend, George Clooney.

Clooney wasn’t present at the event, but the “Michael Clayton” star came up when Billy Bush asked her if she gave him advice following his recent motorcycle accident.

“I don’t want to henpeck him too much, but he needs to be careful,” she said. “He had a girl on his back and he was trying to [be] cool. I understand.”

“He definitely looked cool until he ended up on the sidewalk,” Billy suggested.

“But she was the one with the crutches, poor thing,” Julia noted.

Before the ceremony, Julia posed on the red carpet with Tom Hanks, her co-star in the upcoming drama “Charlie Wilson’s War.”

In the movie, Tom takes a dip in a hot tub and Julia joins him, in a bikini!

“I was so pregnant then,” she revealed of the scene. “I was hoping that they would let me out of that scene because I was four months pregnant! I was holding my breath.”
