Justin Bieber & Scooter Braun Talk ‘Kiss Cam,’ Tribeca Honor

Justin Bieber and girlfriend Selena Gomez were recently caught at a basketball game by the “Kiss Cam” and they obliged with a smooch, something that still makes the Biebs feel a little bashful.

“It’s super embarrassing when stuff like that happens,” Justin told Access Hollywood correspondent Jill Martin on Friday after he and manager Scooter Braun were honored at the 2012 Tribeca Film Festival in New York with the Disruptive Innovation Award.

But, he added, “You can’t not do it.”

Not so said Scooter, who was on hand at the event, during the short interview with Jill.

“That’s not true,” Scooter said, when Jill also suggested people can’t turn down the “Kiss Cam.” “The other day, Justin and I were at the game and the ‘Kiss Me’ cam came on and he refused to kiss me, so it doesn’t always happen.”

All jokes aside, the two were in a celebratory mood on Friday after being honored with the Disruptive Innovation Award, an honor given to people who break the mold and “create significant impact on the future of our world,” according to the Tribeca Film Festival.

“I just think it’s great,” Scooter said of the nod. “He makes me look smarter than I am every day. I’m extremely proud of him. He’s the hardest working guy I’ve ever met. Usher would kill me for saying that, but I think to be honored for disrupting — knowing how many no’s we got along the way, how many people told us we were crazy, how many people told me he was too young, no one would care — and just to see it coming full circle to something like this today, where it’s not just another music award, it’s a very prestigious award from a completely different world — it means a lot.”
