Justin Timberlake ‘Deeply Saddened’ By Death Of IndyCar Driver Dan Wheldon

The death of IndyCar Driver Dan Wheldon stunned the racing world on Sunday, including Justin Timberlake whose William Rast clothing line sponsored the late driver.

“I was deeply saddened to hear the news on Dan Wheldon’s unfortunate and untimely death,” Timberlake said in a statement to Access Hollywood on Monday.

“He was a great driver and a strong supporter of William Rast Racing,” Timberlake’s statement continued. “My thoughts and prayers are with his family in their time of loss.”

The 33-year-old driver was killed following a 15-car accident during the Las Vegas Indy 300 at the Las Vegas Motor Speedway over the weekend.

Wheldon is survived by wife Susie and their two young sons, Sebastian, 2, and Oliver, 7 months. The Wheldon family lives in St. Petersburg, Fla.
