Kanye West Hits Hawaii, Blogs On LAX Arrest

Following his arrest at Los Angeles International Airport on Thursday on felony vandalism charges, Kanye West finally touched down in Hawaii and spoke out about his scuffle with the paparazzi.

“We back in the lab!!! I’m cool with the paparazzi. This guy wasn’t cool. I gotta work now… I’ll rant later!” the rapper posted on his blog on Friday.

In the wake of the incident, which saw the rapper and his bodyguard, Don Crowely, scuffle with a photographer and a cameraman, Access Hollywood has learned both men are due in court on October 2 to answer the charges.

Additionally, because the charges against Kanye include a felony, the rapper will be required to appear in court.

Among the many eyewitnesses to the airport chaos on Thursday was Daniel Young, who was close enough to catch a piece of the shrapnel from the camera Kanye allegedly destroyed.

“A piece of [the camera] flew up in the air about 20 feet and landed in my hand,” Daniel told Access Hollywood.

Daniel also said that the incident created concern for many of the onlookers in LAX’s Terminal 4.

“A lot of people in the line were saying, ‘Cuff him’ because the guy’s crazy,” Daniel added. “A lot of people were concerned because they were flying on 9/11 and the whole thing.”

It is not known if Kanye’s scheduled court date will have any impact on his upcoming tour, the first date of which is slated for October 18 in Monterrey, Mexico.
