Kanye West Lines Up TV Show

LOS ANGELES (January 12, 2007) – Kanye West is in the early stages of a production on a television series Access Hollywood has learned.

A spokesperson for the critically acclaimed, multi-platinum rapper says the project is not “a reality show,” but it will focus on his life.

“I wouldn’t do something as cliché as a reality show,” West said in a statement obtained by Access Hollywood. “At least give me the credit for being more creative than that.”

West is collaborating on the project with Larry Charles, director of last year’s breakout comedy “Borat,” and music producer Rick Rubin.

“For the last couple of years, Larry, Rick and I have been developing this pilot. It’s a situational half-hour comedy. It’s fictional, and loosely based on my life. Maybe this will give me the opportunity to spazz out at the Emmys one day,” West added.
