Kanye West On Kim Kardashian: ‘She’s My Joy’

Kanye West has opened up about his relationship with Kim Kardashian on “Kris,” the talk show hosted by Kris Jenner.

In an episode set to air this Friday, Kanye said that Kim, and their newborn daughter, North, 2-months, gave his life more meaning.

“After I lost my mother there [were] times I felt like, you know, I would put my life at risk,” Kanye said (his mother, Donda West, died in 2007, the day after undergoing plastic surgery). “I felt like sometimes I didn’t have something to live for and now I have two really special people to live for, a whole family to live for, a whole world to live for.”

The rap superstar admitted that people tried to sway him from dating Kim, but he brushed aside their concerns.

“I could have people saying, ‘This is going to damage your credibility as an artist or as a designer,’ and I say, you know, ‘I don’t care, I love this woman,’” Kanye told Kim’s mom.

“I’m being with this person because I love this person and she’s worth it to me,” he added.

Kanye addressed the recent death of his grandfather, Portwood Williams Sr., who died earlier this month at the age of 98. The rapper said that his grandfather lived for “joy,” and that’s something he has found in his new life with Kim.

“She’s my joy and she brought my new joy into the world and there’s no paparazzi and there’s no blog comment that’s gonna take that joy from me,” he said.

The rapper tried to contain his enthusiasm for his relationship during the interview, and told Kris he wouldn’t pull the move Tom Cruise once did on “The Oprah Winfrey Show,” when the actor was madly in love with Katie Holmes.

“I just dreamed about being next to her, and… I keep saying it — I don’t want to start jumping up and down on the couch or anything,” he said.

“Oh please, that would be so fabulous,” Kris added.

Friday’s episode is the final episode of “Kris’” limited, six-week run on select Fox stations across the country.
