“LA Ink’s” Kat Von D might be dating Jesse James… at least according to a deleted Tweet.
Shortly after visiting KROQ radio’s “Kevin & Bean” show in Los Angeles on Tuesday morning, where she skirted around questions about the nature of her relationship with the West Coast Choppers boss, she confirmed on Twitter that she and Jesse were a couple.
Then, she deleted it.
“And yes, Jesse and I are dating,” she wrote, before quickly removing the post, leading many to wonder if the rock ‘n’ roll chick was just joking, following an interview that probed her about the reported romance.
Prior to Tweeting the post, Kat told the KROQ morning show DJs that one fan had Tweeted her over the weekend, demanding she clear up the rumors via Twitter.
“One girl said ‘Are you with Jesse James? I think we’re entitled to know since you’re putting yourself out there.’” Kat recounted. “And I was like, ‘No, and that’s a false sense of entitlement. Just because I’m on TV doesn’t mean that I have to report to people.”
When Bean suggested Kat, 28, is Jesse’s “type,” Kat said that just because she’s covered in ink, doesn’t mean romance is immediately in the cards.
“Um… I think that I’m his type on a different level than people would assume. Just because I have tattoos doesn’t mean we’re the perfect match,” she said.
Kat revealed she met Jesse when she was 22-years-old and starting on “Miami Ink,” and Jesse, who at the time had his own Discovery reality show – “Monster Garage” — gave her advice.
The two remained friends and the tattooed beauty told Kevin and Bean that despite Jesse’s recent troubles, which led to his split with Oscar winner Sandra Bullock, the two have remained close.
“We’ve always been friends,” she told the DJs. “Even when all that negative stuff went down and stuff, I stay out of all that drama.
“I think we’re all human and we’re all capable of making mistakes,” she continued. “I’ve made mistakes too. People have a hard time letting go of that you know? For me, I’ve got a lot of respect for Jesse and how he handled it.”
Reps for Jesse and Kat were immediately available for comment when contacted by Access Hollywood.
