Kate Gosselin: ‘DWTS’ Diva Rumors Are ‘Untrue, Unfounded & Ridiculous’

Kate Gosselin says reports of her diva behavior on “Dancing with the Stars” are not true.

“I’m 3,000 miles away. I’ve been out there once, for the initial thing, danced for five days there, met everyone, wonderful, had a great time. It is so much fun. It is a huge honor,” Kate told the women of “The View” on Wednesday, when asked about reports that she is clashing with her “Dancing” co-stars.

The reality mom said these new rumors are simply par for her course.

“It’s no different than what I’ve been facing for the last year,” she explained. “I feel like it’s unfair, If you meet me, not the tabloid me, not anything else, you’ll realize that I’m just like moms everywhere working. And I’ve had a great time with the whole cast so, it’s untrue, unfounded and ridiculous.”

Kate said she’s usually able to keep her sense of humor about her bad press.

“I typically like to just look at it and laugh. I can’t change it. And I don’t let it bother me. I’m just too busy working and focusing on my kids,” she said, explaining that it’s difficult, but possible, to juggle “Dancing” and her eight kids. “It’s a delicate balance of a working mom… so it’s just a matter of a schedule… a lot of times I’m dancing before they’re up in the morning or after they’re in bed, or while they are in school.”

Co-host Sherri Shepherd asked if Kate’s ex-husband, Jon Gosselin, was helping her watch the kids now that she’s on “Dancing.”

“He was at our house for a week, during the time I was in LA… he’s there when he’s there, and I’m making the best of it,” she said.

But when Joy Behar asked if Jon was helping her financially, Kate skirted the question only saying, “So anyway, we’re here talking about ‘Dancing with the Stars.’”

“Dancing with the Stars” debuts with a two-hour season premiere on Monday, March 22 at 8 PM on ABC.
