Kate Gosselin: ‘I Love The Jon I Remember… The Bath Man And The Bedtime Guy’

Kate Gosselin has revealed her “Plus 8” burst into tears when she finally told them their TLC show was over.

“They cried in the van on the way home from school the other day,” Kate told Barbara Walters during her “10 Most Fascinating People of 2009” interview, which aired on ABC on Wednesday night. “I finally admitted [it] to them. They kept asking ‘Where’s the camera crew? We miss them!’ And I said, ‘Our show is over.’ And they – eight sobbing kids driving home from school.”

While the children are upset that their camera crew pals aren’t around any longer, they still don’t realize they are famous.

“That’s not a word we use,” Kate said. “I don’t like that word. They watch DVDs of our show and it’s family memories to them.”

As for Kate’s own memories, when asked if she still loves now ex-husband Jon Gosselin, the mom said she loves the Jon of days gone by.

“I love the Jon that I remember, the Jon that I knew, the Jon who brought our kids home from the hospital, the Jon who used to be the bath man and the bedtime guy,” she said.

And she revealed she holds out no hopes of them reuniting romantically.

“At this point, no,” Kate said.

But while she was firm that there would be no rekindled romance, Kate was less sure about why Jon stopped allowing TLC in to film their children for what would have eventually been, “Kate Plus 8.”

“I don’t get it. It’s sad,” she said.
