Los Angeles, Calif. (January 11, 2007) — No acting lessons necessary when Katharine McPhee appears on “Ugly Betty.” McPhee will play herself in the episode airing February 1, 2007.
In a sit-down interview with Access Hollywood, Katharine talked about her “Betty” experience and getting the call to be on the show: “I literally found out yesterday, yesterday afternoon…and it was really exciting. America is just so sweet.” Katharine also revealed that before “American Idol” she auditioned for “Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants.” She didn’t get the part, but given that her new self-titled CD drops the day before her “Ugly Betty” episode, she’s not doing too shabby.
