Katie Couric’s contract as host of CBS’ “Evening News” expires at the end of May and a source close to the anchor told Access Hollywood that she’s entertaining multiple offers from different networks.
According to the source, most of the networks – including NBC, CBS, ABC and CNN – are offering the 54-year-old newswoman deals that include a syndicated show and also involvement with a news division.
According to Access’ source:
– CNN is offering a syndication show through their syndicated division, Telepictures Productions (also syndicating Anderson Cooper’s upcoming Fall 2011 show, “Anderson”)
– CBS is offering continued involvement with their news division (which has “60 Minutes” and “CBS Sunday Morning”) plus a syndicated deal. CBS currently has eight of the top ten syndicated shows.
– NBC and ABC are both offering a news division affiliation plus a syndicated show
The source said Couric has not made any decision about where she might end up and that she is considering all of her options.
The news veteran left NBC’s “Today” show for CBS News after 15 years on the hit morning program. According to the Associated Press, she pulls in $15 million a year as the anchor of the network’s evening news show.
