Katie Holmes Ready To Be ‘Afraid Of The Dark’

Katie Holmes may want to bring a night light to the set of her next film.

Katie will star in the thriller “Don’t Be Afraid of the Dark,” according to Variety.

The film will be based on a 1973 ABC TV movie about a young girl who moves in with her dad and his girlfriend, only to discover they are sharing the house with demons.

Guillermo del Toro (“Hellboy,” “Blade II”) wrote the script and will produce the film.

Shooting is slated to begin this summer in Melbourne, Australia.

Katie, who was last seen on the big screen in 2008’s “Mad Money,” recently wrapped production on the comedy “The Extra Man,” starring Kevin Kline and John C. Reilly.

Among del Toro’s upcoming projects are the Peter Jackson-produced “The Hobbit” parts one and two, which del Toro is directing.
