Katy Perry let her Halloween costume speak for itself this year, and the message came through loud and clear.
The pop superstar dressed as her own mic drop on Saturday, and posted a hilarious video of the outfit in action.
Using her pal Snoop Dogg’s 2004 hit “Drop It Like It’s Hot” as background music, Katy shared a slow-motion Instagram clip of herself toppling over while nestled inside a giant microphone suit.

The 31-year-old singer is hardly recognizable in the crafty getup. Her face, peeking out of the domed microphone head, is painted entirely in silver and black to blend right in with the rest of her head-to-toe gear.
While Katy’s idea certainly deserves an audience, she may have had a hard time showing it off in person.

The boxy attire appears a bit difficult to move around in, but that doesn’t detract from its ultimate purpose.
In another Instagram post, Katy posed on her side for an additional peek at the performance art piece.
“Drops mic on your Halloween,” she wrote, captioning her sideways snap.
