Katy Perry Joins Taylor Swift & Nicki Minaj’s Twitter Debate

Katy Perry may have spilled a little more “Bad Blood” in the Taylor Swift and Nicki Minaj debate.

The “Teenage Dream” singer threw her hat in the ring on Wednesday, with a Tweet referencing the heated exchange between her fellow pop stars about this year’s MTV Video Music Awards nominations.

In her carefully worded post, Katy called it “ironic” to criticize someone for instigating a feud between two women when that person has allegedly demonstrated such behavior themselves.

Nicki, along with thousands of others, favorited Katy’s Tweet within minutes.

Katy’s words followTaylor and Nicki’s tense exchange from Tuesday, in which the “1989” singer responded to Nicki’s complaints about failing to score a Video of the Year nod for her steamy “Anaconda” clip. Nicki claimed she was the wrong “kind” of artist to get that kind of recognition from MTV, and noted that if she’d put “women with very slim bodies” in her video things may have turned out differently.

Taylor took that as a personal swipe, given her nominated “Bad Blood” clip features a slew of supermodels and starlets prepping for revenge against an unseen femme fatale. Nicki insisted she wasn’t referring to anyone in particular, and the two seem to have patched things up since.

While Katy never mentioned names, she continued to call out MTV’s VMA roster on Wednesday with a second Tweet apparently on behalf of her pal Rihanna. This time, however, her message was one of solidarity as she wondered why RiRi’s new video “Bitch Better Have My Money” failed to score any VMA love.

“The real travesty is where is the shine for #BBHMMVideo when VMA eligibility period was 7/7/14 to 7/1/15 & that gem dropped 7/1…” Katy wrote.
