Katy Perry Taking A Break: I’m Going ‘Into Major Hiding’

Katy Perry performed 124 shows during her California Dreams tour, pushing right through the end of her 14-month marriage to Russell Brand without a break to mourn the loss outside the glare of the spotlight.

Following the July 5 release of her concert film, “Katy Perry: Part of Me,” the superstar is going to take a much needed breather to reenergize and regroup.

“I’m going to go into major hiding,” the 27-year-old singer told Access Hollywood’s Shaun Robinson of her future plans at the “Katy Perry: Part of Me” premiere in Hollywood on Tuesday. “I think I’ll have to after this movie comes out!”

Though fame has its drawbacks (for example, having your personal life under constant scrutiny), Katy said she’s incredibly grateful for the support of her fans.

“I’m completely overwhelmed,” she told Shaun. “Be careful what you wish for, you just might get it! No, I’m very excited, very proud.

“I’ve had a very kind of like intense day getting ready and thinking, ‘Oh my gosh, we’re shutting down Hollywood Boulevard, we have a premiere at the Chinese Grauman Theater,” she added. “This is crazy.”
