Former “American Idol” contestant Kellie Pickler is reportedly engaged.
According to People, Kellie’s boyfriend, songwriter Kyle Jacobs, proposed to her on a beach in Florida at sunset on June 15 – a day that used to be “sad and hard” for the singer as it is the birthday of her late grandmother.
“It turned out to be the most amazing day of my life,” the fifth-season “Idol” contestant told the mag. “My whole world changed. We both feel like we got my grandmother’s blessing.”
The 23-year-old country singer reportedly told People she felt like her engagement moment was unreal.
“I remember saying to Kyle, ‘Baby it’s like I’m dreaming – but if this isn’t real, I’m going to be very upset!’” she continued.
Kyle reportedly added to People that the moment was filled with a range of emotions for him.
“Afterward, we just held each other and had the most beautiful prayer,” he said. “We had a little champagne and talked and laughed and cried.”
According to Kellie, her future groom has helped her grow when it comes to relationships.
“Kyle took away all my fear of marriage and has shown me the way love is supposed to be,” she explained. “I’m in the happiest place I’ve ever been.”
Kellie and Kyle, who have known each other for over two years, have not said when they plan to walk down the aisle.
