Kelly Clarkson Gets Apology From Chris Wallace For ‘Offensive’ Body Shaming Remark

Chris Wallace has apologized for a comment he made about Kelly Clarkson’s weight on Friday.

“I sincerely apologize to Kelly Clarkson for my offensive comment,” the “Fox News Sunday” host said in a statement on Sunday. “I admire her remarkable talent and that should have been the focus of any discussion about her.”

Radio host Mike Gallagher also issued a full mea culpa in a statement posted on his personal website, and even mocked his own less-than-ripped physique.

“Tubby Mike is the last person in the world who should bring up anyone’s weight,” he wrote in a post titled, “Regarding my comments over Kelly Clarkson during my radio show Friday.” “I couldn’t possibly feel any worse than I do for making an observation that led to the conclusion that I ‘fat-shamed’ this talented and classy entertainer.”

Adding, “It was a really stupid thing for me to do.”

Chris and Mike poked fun at the singer, who gave birth to her first child in June 2014, for her post-baby body during a segment on “The Mike Gallagher Show.”

Chris said that Kelly “has a lovely voice, but could stay off the deep-dish pizza for a little while,” while Mike commented, “Holy cow, did she blow up!”
