Kelly Clarkson Joining Reality TV Singing Competition ‘Duets’

“The Voice,” “American Idol” and “The X Factor” better make room for yet another reality TV singing competition – starring the original “American Idol.”

Kelly Clarkson, Robin Thicke, Lionel Richie and Jennifer Nettles will search for the next singing star on “Duets,” this summer on ABC.

The four stars will search the country finding two singers to be their duet partners. Each week, the celebrity and one of their singers will take the stage and perform in front of a live studio audience.

“The simple fact that I get to go out and find two people I believe in, sing with them every week and help them accomplish their dream is an amazing thing I can’t wait to be a part of,” Kelly said in a statement.

At the end of the singing competition, one contestant will be awarded a recording contract with Hollywood Records.
