Kelly Rowland On Destiny’s Child Reunion & Super Bowl Power Outage

Many Destiny’s Child fans were overcome with excitement when the best-selling trio reunited for the Super Bowl halftime show and Kelly Rowland said even she was over the moon.

“Oh my gosh — it was so incredible,” the singer told Access Hollywood’s Shaun Robinson on the 2013 Grammys red carpet in Los Angeles, of sharing the stage with Beyonce and Michelle Williams at the Superdome last weekend. “The most beautiful part was when I looked on stage and I saw my sisters again — my heart just dropped… I loved every moment.”

Kelly was thrilled with Beyonce’s solo performance.

“Let me tell you, she killed, killed ‘Halo!’ I’m just so proud of her and proud of Michelle and proud of us as a whole, as individuals,” she said. “I’m so excited.”

Though online buzz jokingly blamed the electric 13-minute performance for the Super Bowl’s lengthy power outage which followed, Kelly said she, Michelle and Beyonce were initially unaware the partial blackout had happened.

“We did not know [about the power loss] until we got downstairs,” she said. “Everybody started saying, ‘Lights out.’ I’m like, ‘Lights out? What’s that mean?’ They said, ‘The lights are out. Like — the power is actually out.’ We had no idea! So, that’s really cool that that’s a part of Super Bowl history now.”
