It’s noon in Atlanta and “The Vampire Diaries” star Paul Wesley is only just getting up.
It wasn’t a raging party or a mad case of insomnia that forced the 27-year-old — AccessHollywood.com’s newest Rising Star — to rouse from his slumber at lunchtime. Truth be told, the New Jersey-bred gent has only slept a few hours, the result of getting off work at the alarming early 4:30 AM.
“It’s not abnormal,” the surprisingly awake Wesley tells Access shortly after rising from his slumber. “It’s a very common thing for a vampire show.”

Emmy Countdown: Kevin Bacon, Kyra Sedgwick & Ricky Gervais Among Presenters For Emmy Awards
The Emmy Awards are about to open a whole new set of degrees for the Kevin Bacon game.
Bacon and his wife, Kyra Sedgwick, are slated to present together at Sunday’s ceremony. The “Footloose” actor is nominated for lead actor in a miniseries or movie for HBO’s “Taking Chance,” while Sedgwick is up for lead actress in a drama series for her role on “The Closer.”

Kiefer Sutherland’s legal troubles for allegedly head-butting a fashion designer in a New York City nightclub are over.
The Manhattan district attorney’s spokeswoman said Tuesday that misdemeanor assault charges against the actor are being dropped because the alleged victim wouldn’t cooperate with prosecutors.

Court Postponed For Kiefer Sutherland’s Alleged Head-Butt Incident
Kiefer Sutherland won’t be in Manhattan court this week to answer allegations that he head-butted a fashion designer.
A spokeswoman for the Manhattan district attorney’s office says the actor’s scheduled court appearance Friday on an assault charge has been postponed. A new date has not been set yet.
