Kim Kardashian Drops First Single (For Charity); Auto-Tune Industry Rejoices

Multi-hyphenate celebrity Kim Kardashian has released her first song, which she hopes will launch her into the music industry, on radio’s “On Air With Ryan Seacrest” on 102.7 KISS FM this morning, and so far, reactions have been mixed.

“Jam (Turn It Up)” is the name of the heavily auto-tuned dance/pop single. Part of the iTunes proceeds from the single will benefit St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.

”[The-Dream and I] just had a good time,” Kim told MTV. “And the proceeds are going to a cancer organization [because we both] lost a parent to cancer. So it’s just fun.”

And in case you were wondering, yes, “Turn It Up” was also the title of Kim’s former BFF, Paris Hilton’s, second single, which was released in 2006.

Kim wrote on her personal blog today: “I can’t believe it’s finally released! This was definitely something that was out of my comfort zone, but I’m so glad that I met with The Dream and that we worked on this project together. It was really an amazing experience recording in the studio and filming the music video and I can’t wait for you all to see the video.”

“Okay…im not one to hate but why does Kim Kardashian think she can sing….omg, did anyone hear her song “Jam”…..#FAIL,” listener CoCo Shanel (Sheena McFarlane) wrote on Twitter.

“umm kim kardashian has a song?? i love it. only bc its kim k tho lol,” wrote listener Will McNiff.
