Kim Kardashian & Kanye West Skip Security At JFK Airport

Kim Kardashian and boyfriend Kanye West caused a bit of a ruckus at John F. Kennedy airport this week after the couple failed to go through security prior to boarding a flight.

The mom-to-be and her beau were attempting to board a connecting flight to Los Angeles (after arriving in New York from their weekend trip to Brazil) when the couple cleared customs, but completely bypassed security with the help of an American Airlines employee, according to E! News.

“This was a lapse in judgment by one of our employees. We’re working closely with the Transportation Security Administration and speaking to the individuals involved to better understand what happened,” American Airlines told the website in a statement on Wednesday.

“The flight in question departed JFK an hour late,” the statement continued. “It was delayed in part because of this issue and in part because a number of connecting bags were late arriving to the aircraft.”

The TSA reportedly said that an airline employee escorted a pair of “celebrity passengers” through a “non-public area in order to provide expedited access to their domestic flight.”

Kim’s rep had no comment regarding the incident when contacted by E!.

As previously reported on AccessHollywood.com, Kim and Kanye skipped the Grammys last weekend opting instead for a trip to Rio de Janeiro, where the couple was spotted kissing on their hotel balcony and mimicking the pose of the city’s famed Christ the Redeemer statue.
