Kristen Stewart Declares Julianne Moore A Genius

Kristen Stewart sang the highest of praise for “Still Alice” on-screen mom Julianne Moore – whose character suffers from early-onset Alzheimer’s.

“I’ve known her for a number of years and honestly, she’s a genius,” Kristen told Access Hollywood at the film’s premiere on Tuesday in New York City. “She’s got such a vast capacity, it is crazy. She is like a surgeon, but she’s also just like soulful, uninhibited, like just [an] amazingly powerful woman.”

Kristen said Julianne was so convincing in the role, it made her own acting job that much easier and more authentic.

“Honestly all you have to do is stand in front of her and that was my performance,” she said. “Anyone could have done it. Literally it’s impossible to not be affected by what she was doing.”

Further, Kristen feels her Golden Globe winning co-star is in a league of her own.

“There’s just no one like her and I’ve worked with a lot of people,” she complimented.

Kristen felt pressure to do her own part justice as Julianne’s empathetic daughter.

“There was just sort of large shoes to step into and it was like, ‘You know, am I gonna represent this person correctly?’ You can’t if you fake anything people know it, people feel it,” she admitted about taking on the role.

“Still Alice” opens in New York and Los Angeles on January 16.
