Kristen Wiig Talks Missing SNL & Turning 40: My 30s Were ‘My Favorite’

Kristen Wiig will turn 40 in August and the actress shared a bit of advice she’d impart to her 30-year-old self, if given the chance to go back in time.

“When I turned 30, I couldn’t believe my 20s were over,” Kristen told Access Hollywood at the “Despicable Me 2” junket in Los Angeles, when asked what she wishes she could tell herself at 30. “But my 30s were by far my favorite!

“You kind of think like, ‘Oh my gosh, I’m 30. My 20s were the best!’” she continued. “But 20s are kind of hard. 30s are the best.”

Kristen will hit the big 4 – 0 on August 22, but has yet to plan a party for the occasion.

“As of now, I’m working on that day,” she said with a laugh. “But I wanna do something. I don’t know exactly what — I’m not going to like, go skydiving or anything!”

The actress, who has five movies set to open before the end of this year, said — even with her busy filming schedule — she still misses “Saturday Night Live” terribly.

(She left the show in 2012 after a seven-year run.)

“It’s hard to watch. I’ve admitted that like, I can’t watch it a lot of times,” she said of the NBC sketch show. “I think I’ll always miss it. I’ll always wonder what they’re doing on Saturday nights and I’ll feel that little tug in my heart.”

Adding, “I will always miss it.”

“Despicable Me 2” hits theaters on July 3.
