Kylie Minogue On ‘Aphrodite’: ‘I Just Feel Like We’re Back On Track’

Kylie Minogue returns to the fold with her eleventh studio album, “Aphrodite” on July 5, and the Australian pop star is ready for the world to hear it.

“I just feel like we’re really back on track with this album,” Kylie told Access Hollywood. “I hadn’t had an album that was cohesive in a long time so that [is] where I feel this album is different and it pleases me so much. I was longing for that and I got it.”

Kylie explained that her album is a good mesh of various music styles.

“People have been describing it as ‘a return to the dance floor.’ I don’t know how long I was away from the dance floor, but it really is,” she said. “It’s a really dance-y album, but I think it’s pop dance.

“It has a lot of emotional moments, whether it’s just a kind of tender, soft feeling and then there’s these explosive, euphoric rushes,” she continued. “So I think that the balance throughout it is really amazing. I think my producer, Stuart Price [Madonna, Scissor Sisters], did an incredible job.”

Kylie’s personal favorite on the album is the LP’s first single, “All The Lovers,” which she recently shot a scantily clad video for in Los Angeles.

“I love the fact that it was, you know, [set] my kind of insecurity aside,” she said of the clip, which features Kylie being touched by a host of underwear-sporting extras. “I think that because it was shot on location it gives it that, that realness… And God bless the extras because they were freezing. A lot of baby oil and a lot of water!”

Another Kylie favorite is the title track, “Aphrodite.”

“It just kind of calms us,” she said of the number. “It’s a really refreshing punchy moment in the album.”
