Lady Gaga On AMAs Horse Entrance: A Throwback To Studio 54 & Bianca Jagger

Giddyup Gaga!

For the 2013 American Music Awards, Lady Gaga drew inspiration from the ‘70s. The singer arrived at Sunday’s big show on a (faux) white horse causing everyone to take notice.

Access Hollywood’s Shaun Robinson spoke to the singer about her dramatic entrance.

“My album is a real blend of the past and the future,” Gaga explained of her latest, “ARTPOP.”

“That’s kind of always been me and it’s a real celebration of passion and creativity. So with all the disco influences on the record, I thought it would fun to give a nod to Bianca Jagger, when she arrived to Studio 54,” she said of Mick Jagger’s ex-wife, who arrived at the New York City hotspot for her birthday on a real white horse in 1977.

The singer also spoke about her elation of having “ARTPOP” land at the top of the charts.

“To still be appreciated by the fans and for them to love the music and for them to still be here after all these years – it’s always been the culture of the fans and their community – that’s meant the most to me,” she explained. “I just want to continue making music for my fans, for the world, and I want to be an artist that is remembered for spreading love and joy to my fans.”

Gaga’s joy also includes an effort for others to focus on love.

“The fans and I are really starting with promoting online kindness,” she said. ”This is something that everyone can do on the Internet with social media. Just finding different ways to think before you speak and think before you write things and even the Internet needs to be treated with care.”
