Lady Gaga Says New Album Will Be ‘Greatest Of This Decade’; Continues Campaign Vs. ‘Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell’

Lady Gaga first announced the name of her new album – “Born This Way” – at the MTV Video Music Awards in September. Two months later, she has reportedly proclaimed it will be “the greatest album of this decade.”

MTV News reported that Gaga made the bold prediction during a recent stop in Poland on her Monster Ball tour. She reportedly continued, “I promise you, I’ll never let you down. And not for nothing: The album’s finished and it’s f***ng really good.”

Additionally, she assured her “Little Monsters” that the new album would maintain more than a modicum of street cred.

“The funny thing is that some people have reduced freedom to a brand,” she reportedly continued. “They think that it’s trendy now to be free. They think it’s trendy to be excited about your identity. When in truth, there is nothing trendy about ‘Born This Way.’”

Not much is known about the contents of the “Born This Way” yet, besides that it will likely come out sometime in the first half of 2011. Gaga has incorporated one new song, “You & I,” into her current tour. Another song reportedly by the singer, “Nothing On But The Radio,” leaked online and has become a hit club remix from the leak alone. In at least one interview, Gaga has said the album could contain up to 20 tracks.

However, the Lady is not resting working on her album alone. On Tuesday, she released a new YouTube video about the status of efforts to repeal the military’s “Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell” policy. In her update, she again brought attention to the U.S. Senate’s efforts to pass a bill before the end of the year, and referred to Wednesday’s upcoming release of a new Pentagon report on the controversial policy.

“We’ve known for many years that an overwhelming majority of Americans are ready to repeal,” Gaga said in the backstage video. “Senators, you have been put on notice by me and by the people of this country. You said you would debate and address this law when the Pentagon returned with a strategy, and tomorrow morning you will have it. So will you keep your word? Please keep your word.

“Little Monsters…. Go to SLDN.org/Gaga to join me and make the appeal happen now,” she concluded to her followers.

Finally, Gaga will join Kim Kardashian, Usher and several other celebrities on Wednesday who will (for one day) “end their digital lives,” by signing off of all social networking platforms in recognition of World AIDS Day via Alicia Keys’ Keep a Child Alive (KCA) campaign. More specifically, this campaign is working “in solidarity for those in Africa & India affected by HIV/AIDS.”
