Laura Linney To Return To Broadway Following Death Of Her Father Over The Weekend

Laura Linney is to return to Broadway’s “Time Stands Still” on Tuesday night for the first time since her father’s death.

Romulus Linney, a prolific playwright whose work ranged from stories set in Appalachia to the Nuremberg trials, died Saturday in upstate New York.

The actress dropped out of the play over the weekend. She wasn’t on hand to accept her Golden Globe award Sunday night for her role in Showtime’s “The Big C.”

Linney returns for the final weeks of “Time Stands Still,” which closes Jan. 30 at the Court Theatre on 48th Street.

The play also stars Brian d’Arcy James, Eric Bogosian and Christina Ricci. It explores the private lives of a photojournalist and a foreign correspondent following their return home from war.
