Lauren Conrad To Write Young Adult Novels

Lauren Conrad is best known for having her life captured on the small screen on the highly addictive and popular MTV series “The Hills,” and soon readers will learn more about LC’s road from regular girl to reality star in a series of young adult novels loosely based on her life.

The 22-year-old has inked a three-book deal with publisher HarperCollins, the publisher confirmed to Access Hollywood.

“It’s definitely influenced by my own life,” LC told People of her new books. “The books are about a girl who moves to L.A. and stars in a reality show, so obviously there are some similarities.”

Fans of “The Hills” should not expect to see LC’s frenemies, Heidi Montag and Spencer Pratt, in her book series — at least not exact replicas.

“I’m not trying to do a fictional story based on all my friends in my real life because their stories aren’t really mine to tell,” LC said. “Some of the characters may symbolize people in my life, but it is in no way calling anyone out.”

News of “Hills-inspired” novels could come as a shock to LC’s castmates.

“Honestly I haven’t told everyone,” she confessed. “I’ve told my best friends and they have all been really supportive. Nobody was worried.”

In fact, LC’s best pals are even offering up book advice to budding author.

“I run ideas by Lo and I’ll ask for her opinion because I value my friends’ opinions,” LC added.

The Lauren’s first novel is expected to hit the shelves in summer 2009.
